Mobile, AL continues to be an area that is growing due to the draw of the new companies that are constructing facilities in the area as well as the presence of several local universities. With the growth in the area comes a need for housing and the limited number of existing apartments has led many developers to begin building additional complexes.

Synergy was selected by TDK to provide the design and construction services for this project based on Synergy’s expertise and local presence. The wall layout provided in the plans called for several single walls around the site and one large wall that transitioned into a 4-tiered wall to either side. Synergy evaluated the global stability of the tiered walls and was able to provide a proper design to assure stability of the tiered walls. Being a design-build firm with in-house engineering, Synergy was able to quickly address several field changes requested by TDK, saving time and money for all parties involved. The final layout of the walls resulted in approximately 10,000 sf of retaining wall with a maximum height of 25’. The project was successfully completed in the Summer of 2010.
